Labels.
Before your visit, print or write out some labels with contact details, including your school address, on them. This saves you time whenever you are asked to leave your contact address while wandering around the show. Make sure your name, email address and daytime phone number are also all on the label. 100 labels is a good number; you might not use all of them, but you can always save what’s left over for the next exhibition.
Pre-Registration.
It’s always sound practice to register for the show in advance, as this will give you free fast-track entry past those interminable queues and an information pack in advance to help you plan your visit. It can be done online at

Booking Seminars.
Similarly, if there are seminars you feel are a ‘must’ to attend, it is wise to pre-book your place. You can attend for free on the day if there are places (a small fee applies to pre-booking seminars), but that’s risky as the more popular ones do fill up fast.
Route Management.
Plan your route around the show in advance and make a note of any companies that you particularly wish to see. If you can, let any companies you are really interested in know that you’re going. Some companies will make appointments to see people at specific times.
Group Strategy.
If there are several of you going from the same school or college, split the workload and meet at strategic times for consultation, e.g. break, lunch, etc.
