Special measures to outstanding – the pathway to success

‘Truly comprehensive’ is the phrase headteacher Tony Ryan, uses to describe Chiswick School. While he is proud of the diversity of the intake, when he arrived at the school it was judged satisfactory by Ofsted and not so long before had narrowly avoided slipping into special measures. Today it is assessed to be good and on its way to being classed as ‘outstanding’ with a dynamic outward looking learning community. Tony Ryan explains how this has been achieved.
