Review Of Contacts To The NSPCC Helpline

Every day the NSPCC’s helpline assists more than 50 children suffering neglect, according to this report by the NSPCC. Last year the free, 24-hour helpline dealt with reports involving 18,345 children who had to be referred to social services or police for further investigation, many of these involved children under five. Around one third of all contacts – by phone, email or text – were about neglect. This report explores the impact of the work of the helpline throughout 2012/13 and the role it has played in the wider child protection system to keep children safe. Leadership Briefing issue (8.03)
