Spending on Late Intervention: How We Can Do Better for Less

Dealing with acute social problems affecting children and young people in England and Wales costs £17bn a year of public money, according to this anlysis by the Early Intervention Foundation charity. Amongst other things, it outlines how much we currently spend on late interventions; crucial yet often unnecessary services that attempt to ameliorate the immediate problems of children and young people, but do not deal with their causes.
