For a market to work, the main decision‐making agents have to respond appropriately to the market incentives, and these have to be leading in the right direction. This CUBeC research examines the growth of schools in England, and in particular the growth of high performing schools, and specifically asks whether the education system in England is doing a good job of mimicking market incentives for popular services to expand.
