What is meta-cognition or ‘thinking about thinking’, and how can you use it to improve pupils’ learning?
In the second of two webinars for the Teachers and Leaders Masterclasses, Professor Steve Higgins discusses why meta-cognition and self-regulation are so important for learning and considers some evidence-backed approaches to introducing them to the classroom.
More broadly, he also examines how teachers can make good use of evidence to improve their practice, looking, in particular, at the findings of the EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit.
