Thinking Together has been specifically designed to develop the language and reasoning skills of children at Key Stage 2.
Speaking and listening skills are crucial for children’s thinking and learning. Thinking Together provides a structured set of lessons for developing children’s spoken language skills and hence their thinking skills. The lessons raise children’s awareness of how to talk to one another in classroom settings and why it is important to collaborate in this way.
The Thinking Together activities equip children with the knowledge and understanding they need to explain their thinking, to share information and to reason together. In this way, they not only become better at carrying out joint activities, they become better at thinking and learning for themselves. Once established in a classroom, the Thinking Together approach can be applied across the curriculum.
