Dr Chris Fielding

Dr Chris Fielding became the Academy Lead at the Forwards Centre in January 2016 following many years as a mainstream primary headteacher. On arrival, he was struck by the rapid cessation in challenging behaviour of the majority of the children entering the centre. This led to his doctoral study ‘Inclusion for the excluded: Applying critical realism within an alternative provision academy for excluded primary school children’ and the creation of a set of SEMH principles which now guide the work of the centre and form the basis of his work with schools.
