Involving parents as genuine partners
The Government wants schools to work more closely with parents. Fiona Carnie outlines a project in which a number of schools have developed new ways to involve parents in school decision-making. When parents are closely involved - both in their child’s learning and in the life of the school - children do better. Parental involvement is a lever for raising pupil achievement.
