The 14-19 Shake-Up
From April 2010 local authorities will take over funding responsibility for education and training for all 14–19 year olds. Under the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill, which sets out this change, local authorities will have new powers to plan and commission education and training for this age group.
